Elena Popach is a teacher, teacher-organizer, and social worker with a university degree and 25 years of experience.
For 13 years she headed the arts and creativity department at a district children’s center for extracurricular education, where she led and organized children’s creative groups in many disciplines. Her projects repeatedly earned certificates and diplomas from district and regional education departments and state administrations, and her students took part in, and won, regional and national competitions, festivals, and exhibitions across Ukraine.
Handcrafts have been her hobby since childhood, and since she began teaching she has passed her knowledge and skills on to children. Her teaching rests on a few principles: novelty, vivid work, an individual approach to each child’s creative growth, and an atmosphere where children express themselves freely and make their own decisions on creative projects.
Years of experience have convinced her that children who do handicrafts develop determination, perseverance, self-discipline, and self-confidence. Her classes motivate them to keep growing and to create their own original works that show their imagination and natural talents.
