From Ukraine to the Bravo stage.
Yaryna Alzhnyeva, a native of Ukraine, was born into a family of dancers and has been dancing since the age of three.
She has trained in nearly every form of stage dance — classical ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, ballroom, flamenco, and Ukrainian folk dance — and continued her studies at the university level, where she earned a Master's degree in dance choreography.
At Bravo, Yaryna leads the dance program and choreographs for the company's main-stage musicals, seasonal showcases, and original productions. Her work has been performed for audiences across the north Chicago suburbs, and her students consistently audition into the company's most demanding roles.
Her teaching philosophy is simple: dance is a language, and her job is to give every student something worth saying.
